| This lab investigates the hardness of rocks. You will need rocks, paperclips etc to scratch with and a magnifying glass. Follow these instructions: 1.Observe each rock carefully, does it look like some parts are different than the other? Does it look like some parts are harder than the other? Describe each. 2. Predict on the rock hardness scale between 1 and 10, how hard each of the rocks might be. 3. Using your fingernail and other tools, try scratching each of the rocks. Provide 3 statements about what you learned about each of the rocks you tried a scratch test on. | |||||
