Using maps invites curiosity, and inspires problem solving. Using them explores many different topics. Your mapping lessons can encompass visual learning, spatial thinking and quantitative skills. Give your 2nd graders an atlas or globe and have them complete this worksheet. It is fine to google a map that gives us directions but it is equally important to learn the skill of reading maps.
