| Becoming a good community citizen needs to start when we are young. At school is a great place to begin teaching these traits. Brainstorm with your class what makes a good citizen. Commit to being a good citizen in the classroom. Have some buttons and each time the teacher sees an act of good citizenship put a button in the jar. Count the buttons weekly. Once a predetermined number is achieved have a celebration and present Top Notch Citizen Awards to your students. This can be done monthly and throughout the school year. Add tidy up the playground and pay it forward days to extend this activity. |
